Karachi Stock Exchange: A Safe Haven ?

` The world's most dangerous place.' This way Pakistan was defined by The Economist on January 3rd. The country was given this title among other things because of the assassination of ex-premier Bhutto and the riots which followed. Some weeks later The Economist again dedicated an article to Pakistan, this time titled: `The world's most dangerous haven'. Those who dare to gamble on the stock markets might want to try their luck in Pakistan right now. The Pakistani Stock Market ( Karachi Stock Exchange) is pointed out as the best performing index in Asia this year. Somehow political turmoil does not necessarily prevent a market from performing very well. The economy of Pakistan is expected to grow around 6.5-7% over the year 2008.
